a couple months ago i started keeping a journal of all the dreams i remember. when i wake up, if i remember any of my dreams i write them down as soon as i get out of bed. sometimes it will be two pages of detailed story, or sometimes just a sentence or two. since then i’ve started having dreams-within-dreams, and dreaming about writing in my dream journal.

sometimes i’ll go to write a new dream and see the previous entry and not remember it at all – the way dream memory works is funny, as soon as you have a reminder it comes back to you, but you’ll never spontaneously recall it. at least for me.

an exception to that, i just looked in it and saw something i had no memory of at all in terrible handwriting:

i think i wrote it while i was still asleep!
