inner city pressure
May 24th, 2008, 11:37 pmi’m starting to think about where i want to live in september – my lease ends august 31, and i definitely want to live alone. there’s a chance i’ll have to live with roommates if i can’t find a bachelor/studio that’s both cheap enough and downtown enough, but i really don’t want to live with roommates if i can help it.
not sure why, but i really want to live somewhere kind of rough and very ‘city’, somewhere you take a freight elevator to the third floor of a warehouse that’s been converted to apartments, in a neighborhood that’s mostly alleyways and fire escapes. i just love that aesthetic. i’ve been having dreams about it a lot. i think that kind of area around here is king st. west? i’ve been meaning to check it out on my bike lately. there’s probably a bunch of that kind of stuff east of yonge, but i’ve never lived there and i don’t really want to. mainly because i like tall buildings (and it’s boring out there).
